NOW SOLD Vintage TEAK LOUNGE CHAIR Danish MODERN Style RETRO Eames R HUBER

NOW SOLD For sale here is a fantastic Vintage Teak Lounge / Arm Chair, made by the R.Huber company in Canada. From what I have discovered after speaking to some collectors of Canadian Mid-Century pieces and some online research R.Huber imported Danish Made pieces as well as manufacturing their own quality Danish style teak pieces as well. I do not know the exact year it was made, but I believe it to have been in the late 1960’s (as there is a label with a 1968 date on it) I also believe that the upholstery is original to the piece. The upholstery is in nice vintage condition. No stains, tears or holes. The inner foam of the seat cushion is still soft and spongy, the foam of back cushion is spongy, but has started to harden at the edges a bit. You can replace the inner foam yourself fairly easily as both removable cushions have zippers and the inner foam can be removed (I have taken this into account in the pricing) The solid teak legs, and horse shoe shaped wrap around teak accent at the top are in fantastic shape, having taken on a glowing patina that can only be found with well cared for vintage pieces such as this one. The flowing rounded organic lines and low sleek profile make this an eye catching piece. The Chair measures as follows, 34 inches at its widest point, 36 inches back to front. The seat cushion is 16 inches tall at the knee and the back cushion is 30 inches tall.

THIS IS NOW SOLD Vintage TEAK Side TABLE w. MAGAZINE Rack Danish MODERN Style

NOW SOLD For sale here is a unique Vintage Teak Side Table with Cloth Magazine rack. I do not know the exact year it was made, but I believe it to have been in the late 1960’s I have not been able to find any manufacturers marks or indication of where it was manufactured. Whoever did design it clearly was influenced by the functional and stylish Danish designs at the time. It can serve as a great side table that will hold all your magazines and remotes in the cloth sling style rack, It would also make a great bar/ Serving cart as it does have a lower tier for bottles or glassware, and is on casters for easy movement. . The piece measures as follows, 18 ¼ inches by 20 ¼ by 20 inches tall

SOLD. DANISH Modern TEAK DESK Sliding Top and Drawers LABELED G.V. Denmark RETRO Like ARNE VODDER

THIS IS NOW SOLD For sale here is a a stunning desk with sliding drop-leaf top and sliding drawers, done in a rich teak wood. It is stamped “G.V. Made In Denmark”. I am unfamiliar with the mark, however I have seen an identical desk online attributed to ARNE VODDER. I don’t think that Vodder actually designed this desk as I cannot find any other of Vodder’s pieces with this marking, however whoever did design it was clearly influenced by Vodders Model 51A desk he designed for P. Olsen Siblast Mobler of Denmark. Some of the unique design features of this desk are its sliding drop leaf top. The top slides on a wooden rail system to have the drop leaf extended for more desk space, or have it down when less space is needed. My favorite design feature of the desk is that the drawers are also on a similar sliding rail system so that they can be slid to one side of the desk or to the other. It is such a clever feature made to accommodate left handed and right handed people equally well. The, dovetail drawer construction, tapered solid teak legs, and sculptural drawer pulls also scream classic mid-century modern Danish design. The measurements for the desk are as follows: With the Drop leaf extended the top measures 64 inches long, with the leaf dropped it measures 49 inches long, the desk is 24 inches wide, and 28 ¼ inches tall. The desk is in fantastic vintage condition. The desk shows some minor general use wear here and there consistent with a well cared for piece of this age. The teak has taken on a warm patina that can only come with age and proper care over the years and highlights the fantastic matching grain patterns of the top. This is a tour de force of the functional austere design that is so typical of the Mid Century Danish / Scandinavian Modern design movement. It also would greatly compliment any Eames Mid Century styled living space, or adding a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. If the original Arne Vodder Model 51A desk, that clearly influenced the design of this desk, is a bit out of your price range at the $8000 price tag that it is listed at all over the internet, then this desk at a lower price but featuring all the unique design features is the one for you.
